PREMIERE DRIVER

Already standard in many vehicles, but still worth mentioning: the e-3008 comes with several recuperation levels, four driving modes and a wide range of driver assistance systems. The manufacturer puts the turning circle at 10.6 metres. “The architecture of the platform itself contributes to the dynamics by maximising the use of lightweight and inflexible materials and by lowering the vehicle’s centre of gravity as low as possible between the wheels thanks to the ideal positioning of the single-layer battery,” the French company elaborates. The e-3008’s “dynamic road holding” is to be ensured by the STLA Medium’s improved axles. It can therefore charge intelligently and supply external electrical devices with power (3 kW and 16 amps).Ī closer look at the drive reveals the use of a new generation of permanent magnet synchronous motors. The front-wheel drive versions deliver 157 kW and 343 Nm and 170 kW and 343 Nm respectively. The dual-motor version comes to 240 kW (157 kW and 343 Nm at the front and 83 kW and 166 Nm at the rear). The engines are supplied by Stellantis-Nidec from Trémery. The model is V1G- and V2L-capable, says Peugeot. According to the manufacturer, the single-motor version of the SUV can be charged from 20 to 80 per cent in 30 minutes (Standard Range) or in “less than 30 minutes” (Long Range). This is the maximum energy content supported by the platform.īut back to the model itself: the e-3008 comes with a three-phase 11 kW on-board charger ex-works, and the DC charging power is supposed to amount to 160 kW. The e-3008 is thus more likely to be one of the shorter models, but it now proves, as suspected, that even with a wheelbase of 2.73 metres the 98-kWh battery can be installed. The new platform supports wheelbases between 2.70 and 2.90 metres and overall lengths of 4.30 to 4.90 metres. Recently, the 14-brand car company also made public its intention to build up to two million vehicles per year on the STLA Medium in several plants in the future. Back when it unveiled its 2021 platform plans, Stellantis revealed that the STLA is expected to provide up to 700 and 800 kilometres of range for BEVs.

In fact, the now-presented hatchback SUV measures only 4.54 metres in length – with a wheelbase of 2.73 metres. On the occasion of the world premiere of the e-3008, Peugeot emphasises that the STLA medium platform with up to 98 kWh offers “record energy between the wheels” and still allows for compact dimensions. The energy storage units are NMC batteries from the Stellantis-Saft joint venture ACC. All kilometre figures are according to WLTP, but subject to final homologation. Peugeot promises up to 700 kilometres WLTP range for the compact SUV.Ĭompeting in the C-segment, the new Peugeot e-3008 has been designed as an electric model from the outset and will be available with three all-electric powertrains: a front-wheel drive with 157 kW of power and a 73 kWh battery for up to 525 kilometres, a long-range front-wheel drive variant with 170 kW of power and a 98 kWh battery for up to 700 kilometres, and a 240 kW all-wheel drive that will be mated to the 73 kWh battery and is said to offer 525 kilometres of range. It will be produced at the French plant in Sochaux and go on sale in February 2024. Peugeot has presented the e-3008, the brand’s first model based on the new Stellantis STLA Medium platform.
